About Dr. Lars Wagner

Dr. Lars Wagner is a pediatric oncologist and clinical researcher focused on pediatric and young adult patients with sarcoma. He pioneered the development of irinotecan combinations to treat pediatric solid tumors, and has been the principal investigator for several national clinical trials exploring various therapy strategies for sarcoma.
After leading the pediatric oncology divisions at the University of Kentucky and Duke University, Dr. Wagner is now back at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where he oversees protocol development for patients with solid tumors. Dr Lars Wagner was Tyler's lead oncologist at Duke Children's for 6 years. Dr Wagner was the Chief of Hematology/Oncology at Duke Children's Hospital, a Professor of Pediatrics, and a Member of the Duke Cancer Institute. He won the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award in 2025 while at Duke University School of Medicine.
